Life is full of twists and turns and none of us can be sure what the future holds. That’s why creating a will makes good sense. As more and more people realise the importance of making a will, it’s no longer seen as something just for the elderly or ill but simply part of sound financial planning for any family or individual.
Our standard fees are £150 plus VAT for a straightforward single Will and £225 plus VAT for a pair of straightforward mirror Wills.
More complicated mirror Wills start at £325 plus VAT. We can give you an idea of the likely cost during an initial discussion.
To help with the current lock down we can communicate with you by phone and email and we can also offer a video call over our telecom’s providers’ App. Please ask for details.
We can also supply the Will to you by post for you to sign at home. You will however require two independent witnesses. A witness cannot be a family member, an executor or beneficiary under the Will nor a spouse of the same.
If you are unable to arrange for two independent witnesses, we are happy for you to attend the reception area in our offices where we can act as witnesses whilst complying with appropriate distancing. We can also arrange compliant home visits with the appropriate distancing in place - solicitors acting in connection with the execution of Wills are classed as key workers.
What are the things you should consider before calling?
How long is the legal process when writing a will?
For a straightforward matter, a Will can be completed within a week from initial instructions to execution of the Will. If there is a particular urgency, a Will can be drafted and signed within a couple of working days, if required.
Is it expensive?
We are usually able to provide a fixed fee service for the drafting of most Wills. Our standard costs are set out above.
Please contact us for an initial chat and a quotation and speak to Mr Richard Evans and Mrs Ann Marie Moment.
